Becky and her friend Georgia Bibby, the girl on the left in the picture, felt the mannequins represented an unhealthy and unrealistic body weight. Her message has received a lot of support on Twitter like the comments below;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"e-entry-title\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;I&#8217;m sorry <a class=\"profile customisable h-card\" dir=\"ltr\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Topshop\" data-scribe=\"element:mention\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">@<b class=\"p-nickname\">Topshop<\/b><\/span><\/a>, but how is this size zero mannequin sending a remotely safe &amp; responsible image? Remove. Simple&#8221;. &#8211; <a class=\"u-url profile\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/gemmaoaten\" data-scribe=\"element:user_link\"><span class=\"p-nickname\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"color: #000000;\" data-scribe=\"element:screen_name\">@<b>gemmaoaten<\/b> <\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"e-entry-title\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;annoyed by the image of that regular-sized girl next to the stupidly thin <a class=\"hashtag customisable\" dir=\"ltr\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Topshop?src=hash\" rel=\"tag\" data-query-source=\"hashtag_click\" data-scribe=\"element:hashtag\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">#<b>Topshop<\/b><\/span><\/a> mannequin, and people wonder why young girls crash diet&#8221;. &#8211; <span class=\"p-nickname\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"color: #000000;\" data-scribe=\"element:screen_name\">@<b>ItsOnlyNaomi<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The body-shaming debate comes to the surface AGAIN<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"e-entry-title\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We have blogged previously about other companies using these &#8220;super-skinny&#8221; mannequins and then, at a later point, removing the displays and apologising. These involved Primark and La Perla.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"e-entry-title\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In May 2014, we told you that La Perla&#8217;s store in New York was forced to remove a mannequin from the display. This was also the case in August 2014, when<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> a<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valentinosdisplays.com\/blog\/primark-removes-skinny-mannequin-from-shop-window\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Primark store in Glasgow removed a mannequin with protruding ribs<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"e-entry-title\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the fall of 2013, we wrote &#8220;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.valentinosdisplays.com\/blog\/mannequins-for-change\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mannequins for Change<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;. Valentino&#8217;s Displays has a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valentinosdisplays.com\/plus-size-mannequins\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">collection of plus-sized mannequins<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, male and female, that are guaranteed to get your customers intrigued. The popularity that both the Debenhams and the Pro Infermis campaigns have had both online and in-store has been astronomical, which is an obvious throwback to the fact that most women are sick of the same old generalisations being thrown their way by the fashion industry.
